The Balipure Water Defenders is a professional women's volleyball team competing in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) which recently turned into a professional league in November 2020. It originally participated in the Shakey's V-league, the precursor of the Premier Volleyball League which started as a semi-professional league. The PVL then transformed into a professional league after its application was approved by the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) in November 2020.
The team immediately made an impact in its debut in the PVL in 2016 when it finished 3rd place in both the Open and Reinforced Conference of the PVL. The year later was even more successful for the Water Defenders as they secured a runner-up ending in the 2017 PVL Reinforced Conference. Finally, the team won its first ever PVL championship trophy in the 2017 PVL Open Conference.
