The Davao Occidental Tigers is a basketball team participating in the ongoing Filipino Basketball League or otherwise known as the Filbasket. The team recently won the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Lakan Cup last March 2021.
Due to the inactivity of the MPBL owing to the persistent effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, the team opted to participate in the Filbasket to give opportunity for its players to remain physically fit while earning at the same time. The Davao Occidental Tigers retained its core from the recent MPBL Championship team less Mark Yee who will play in a 3x3 tournament abroad. Nonetheless, they added MPBL Lakan Cup MVP John Wilson, veteran Paulo Hubalde, and reliable point guard Alwin Alday to boost the offensive front.
Also beefing the team are Gab Dagangon, Robby Celiz, Chris Lalata, Allan Santos, Keith Agovida, and Irven Palencia. Holdovers from the recent Champion team are Marco Balagtas, Emanuel Calo, Bonbon Custodio, Billy Ray Robles, and Joseph Terso.DAVAO OCCIDENTAL TIGERS LINEUP
