MPBL Injury Report and Updates

The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2022 Regular Season rolled out starting on April 25, 2022. With twenty-two (22) teams competing for the chance and honor of winning the coveted National Championship Trophy, there will be an estimated 231 games during the elimination round.

Having a lot of games in the elimination round, sustaining an injury is inevitable. It is therefore crucial for every team to manage their injuries since a season-ending injury will greatly affect the chances of a team in winning the crown.

We summarize below the list of injured players that we gathered. This is an unofficial report and we take no responsibility for any loss or damage you may incur from relying on below list.

Meanwhile, Rizal Golden Coolers will miss the services of Jboy Gob, Jolo Mendoza and Troy Malilin against the Imus City Bandera tonight.

The Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines will be shorthanded on their game against the Manila Stars as JJaycee Marcelino and Mon Mabayo are all out of the roster. Jeff Comia will also not play due to the death of her sister. Moreover, Jhaymo Eguilos and Jayson Grimaldo are still in the injured list.

Chris Bitoon of the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards will not play as he is still out due to the injury he sustained during the Filbasket Finals series against the San Juan Knights.

Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines is lacking big men as Jhaymo Eguilos and Jayson Grimaldo are still out due to injuries. In addition, Cris Dumapig was also out in action against Bacolod.

Stephen Siruma of the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards was not able to play against the San Juan Knights on July 12, 2022 at the Rice Vanguards's home game at Nueva Ecija Coliseum in Palayan City.

There were several players who were not able to play last July 11, 2022. The Sarangani Marlins missed the services of Andoy Estrella during their loss against the Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines. Jhaymo Eguilos and Jayson Grimaldo of the Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines were also out during that match.

The Pampanga Giant Lanterns may have to contend without their star player Jayson Apolonio who apparently injured his back during the last minute of their hotly-contested match against the General Santos Warriors. He landed awkwardly after attempting to block the layup attempt of Nikko Panganiban which resulted to free throws that sealed General Santos' win.
