The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2022 regular season has already reached its mid-point. In order to give the teams the opportunity to retool and revamp their roster, the MPBL has allowed each team to release their players and sign others from the pool of released players.
The release and sign period will run from August 8 to 14, 2022. Who will benefit from the transfer period?

With the release of several players including Josh Fontanilla, Ira Bataller and Kobe Monje who are all participating in the PBA D-League, the Manila Stars signed a number of players to fill in their roster spots. Jed Mendoza, JR. Alabanza, Nico Abatayo, Francis Camacho and Moncrief Rogado were all signed to boost the Manila Stars' campaign.

The Caloocan Excellence signed John Rosagas who previously played for Imus Bandera. The team also signed James Martinez and forward Redel Fabro from the Quezon City Capitals. The Caloocan Excellence also picked up Joseph Terson and JR Raflores from the Marikina Shoemasters.
