In a post in its official Facebook Page, the Pampanga Giant Lanters listed notable names that would surely make the Lanterns a super squad in the MPBL. Most notable of the names are Marc Pingris, Arwind Santos, Encho Serrano and Alex Cabagnot.
While it may seem that Arwind Santos, Encho Serrano and Alex Cabagnot are not legible to play in the MPBL due to their existing contracts with their respective mother teams in the MPBL, Governor Delta Pineda might have found a way for these marquee players from the PBA to play in the MPBL since the opening of the 48th season of the PBA is slated to open on October 2023. This could explain why their mother teams allowed them to play in the MPBL during the break.

It must be emphasized that the Lanterns recently won the PSL Dumper Cup championships just this month. Thus, they will make their debut in the MPBL on April 13, 2023, and given their star-studded lineup, one would expect a debut in a dominating fashion.
