The Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards currently lead the North Division of the MPBL (Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League) with an immaculate record of 6-0. The defending champions dumped the Paranaque Patriots, 91-74, last April 21, 2023 to extend their unbeaten run to 6 games.
Trailing the Rice Vanguards are the San Juan Knights and the Pampanga Giant Lanters who both have 2-0 records. These two (2) teams started their season campaign in the MPBL due to their participation in the recently concluded PSL Dumper Cup which the Giant Lanterns won.
As for the South Division, the Quezon Huskers are in first place with an unblemished record of 6-0. The newest team in the league is showing no jitters as they recorded impressive wins. The Batangas Embassy Chill and the General Santos Warriors likewise own untainted records with 5-0 and 4-0 cards respectively.
