Justin Baltazar is the best player of the MPBL (Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League) for the week of May 1-6, 2023 after he posted a dominant 20-20 game against the Laguna Krah Heroes last May 2, 2023. With him on board, the Pampanga Giant Lanterns is one of the three (3) remaining unbeaten teams in the early part of the season.
In all four (4) games that he played so far for the Giant Lanterns, Justine Baltazar is averaging 19.25 points, 14 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 0.5 steal and 1 block.
In his debut game against the Negros Muscovados, he scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 block on 13 April 2023. He followed it up with a double-double output of 15 points, 14 rebounds to go along with 2 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks versus the Imus SV Squad on 20 April 2023.
A week later, he led Pampanga with 21 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and a steal on 27 April 2023. Finally, his most dominant game so far was against Laguna Krah Heroes where he dropped 26 points and grabbed 22 rebounds, more than enough to earn the player of the week citation.
