Senator Jinggoy Estrada read the names of players and officials of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) who are suspected of game fixing during the hearing of the Committee on Sports joint with Committee on Games and Amusement last 07 February 2024. The hearing was conducted by the Senate in aid of legislating amendments to the decade old laws on game fixing in the Philippines.
When asked by Senator Estrada, an official of the MPBL stated that these players who were given red flags are suspended indefinitely from the MPBL. Expect them to be out of the league on the upcoming 2024 season of the MPBL.
