Pamboy Raymundo Leads Clarin Sto. Niño to Opening Win Against Misamis Oriental, 73-63.

Clarin Sto. Niño Vismin Super Cup

After a long hiatus from playing basketball after his team was eliminated in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) playoffs last year, Pamboy Raymundo showed no rust in his return as he scattered 10 points, six rebounds, and nine assist in 25 minutes of action to show the way for the vaunted Clarin Sto. Niño team as they dumped the Misamis Oriental Brew Authoritea, 73-63 at the Ipil Gymnasium.

Clarin's offense was not lacking in firepower as Paymboy's fellow MPBL veterans chipped in double digit points to ensure their opening win. John Wilson who recently won the MPBL Lakan Cup Most Valuable Player (MVP) award put a show of his own as he contributed 11 point in addition to his seven rebounds.

Not to be outdone were Marvin Hayes who posted an efficient night as he dropped 12 points and grabbed six rebounds in just 15 minutes of playing time. Also making valuable contribution on the offensive end was spitfire guard Carlo Lastimosa who delivered 15 points to go along with his 2 rebounds and one assist.

JR Cawaling and Ronjay Buenafe carried the offensive load for the Misamis Oriental team but they fell short as the team only shot 37.5% versus Clarin's accuracy of 40.8% from the field. JR Cawaling scored 11 points while Ronjay Buenafe had an efficient night after he registered 13 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.

Misamis Oriental will have a chance to barge into the winning column on July 11, 2021 (Sunday) should they defeat the also winless Iligan City Archangels. Meanwhile, Clarin is looking to extend their winning run against the Roxas Vanguards also on Sunday.
