Volleyball is definitely a team sport but we cannot also deny the fact that individual skills or talent can make or break a team. As the inaugural season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) continues to roll, several stars are shining more than the others.

We compile the list of the best players in different skills category such as scoring, blocking, spiking, and serving among others in order to determine the alphas of the tournament.

Alyssa Valdez is living to her monicker as the Phenom with her league-leading scoring average of 18.22 per outing. Her scoring exploit helped her team, the Creamline Cool Smashers notch the number one see. You can view the full team standings here.

Jaja Santiago who won a championship in Japan occupies second place with her scoring average of 15.89 points per game for the Chery Tiggo Crossovers. Closely trailing her at third place is Kat Tolentino of the Choco Mucho Flying Titans who posted an average of 15.44 points per game.

Ria Meneses  of the Petro Gazz Angeles is the current leader in blocks as she swatted a total of 35 spikes as of 02 August 2021. At far second is MJ Phillips who recorded 23 blocks in the same period. Roselyn Doria, Dell Palomata, and Jaja Santiago broke into the top 5 after they recorded 18, 16, and 16 blocks respectively.

Insofar as spiking is concerned, the Phenom Alyssa Valdez currently dominates the sky with her 96 total spikes as of 02 August 2021. Her fellow Atenean Kat Tolentino of the Choco Mucho Flying Titans came in at close second with her 93 total spikes. Jaja Santiago, Honey Royse Tubino, and MJ Phillips are also showing prowess in the spiking division.
