The Iloilo United Royals is a professional basketball team representing the City of Iloilo in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The team was founded in 2019 and was one of the six (6) expansion teams in the 2019-2020 season or the Lakan Cup of the MPBL.
Although it was one of the newest teams, Iloilo United Royals proved to be a competitive one as they notched an 18-12 record which was enough for a sixth (6th) seed in the Southern Division. It, however, exited the first round playoffs after they were vanquished by the Basilan Steel in the first round.
For the MPBL Invitational Tournament on 11-23 December 2021, the team retooled its lineup as they aim to win the invitational championship trophy. You can view the lineup of other MPBL teams here and the team standings of the team here!
