The Manila Stars.is a professional basketball team representing the City of Manila in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. The team was founded in 2018 when they participated as one of the 16 expansion teams in the second (2nd) season or the Datu Cup (2018-2019) of the MPBL.
In the Datu Cup, the team reached the North Division Finals but they bowed out against the eventual champions San Juan Knights, 2-1 in their best-of-three duel. The team retooled in the succeeding season (2019-2020) or the Lakan Cup but they failed again to reach the Finals after they were eliminated by the Makati Supercrunch, 2-1, in the North Division Semi-finals.
The Manila Stars is back again in the invitational tournament of the MPBL from 11-23 December 2021. You can view the lineup of other MPBL teams here and the team standings of the team here!
