The Pilipinas Super League (PSL) is the newest professional basketball league in the Philippines founded by its president, Rocky Chan. The PSL is a regional tournament pitting various towns from different parts of the country with the aim of bringing back entertainment in basketball.
"Gusto naming i-bring back yung entertainment talaga in basketball. Hindi lang siya totally basketball. Kumbaga, super saya, may mga papremyo tayo, and super exciting ang mga laro (We want to bring back the entertainment in basketball. This is not just pure basketball. That is, this should be very fun, there will be prizes, and the games will be super exciting)," Chan vowed.
The inaugural season will be held at Roxas, Zamboanga Del Norte, but the opening rites will be conducted at the Dipolog Sports Complex. It will feature eight (8) teams coming from various provinces as far as Cagayan Valley in Northern Luzon.
