PVL Players 2023: Player Transfers, Signing and Releases for the Open Conference

The Premiere Volleyball League (PVL) is slated to open this coming February 2023 and teams are already making big changes to strengthen their rosters. As early as now, there are already notable releases of players and signing of new ones.

CHERY TIGGO CROSSOVERS

The Chery Tiggo Crossovers announced that they signed Ponggay Gaston who previously played for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans last season. She is a 5'10 outside hitter from the Ateneo De Manila University.

Ponggay Gaston is set to replace Dindin Manabat who announced that she is leaving the Chery Tiggo Crossovers after six (6) years of playing with the team.

CHOCO MUCHO FLYING TITANS

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans announced the departure of Ponngay Gaston and Shannen Palec from the team. As mentioned above, Ponggay Gaston signed with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers.

Shannen Palec is a 5'9 middle blocker from the University of Santo Tomas. Prior to playing for Choco Mucho in 2019, she played for United Volleyball Club from 2016 to 2019.

CIGNAL HD SPIKERS

The Cignal HD Spikers let go of six (6) players. They are Klarisa Abriam, Ayel Estranero, Angeli Araneta, Marist Layug, Joy Dacoron and Arianne Layug.

The team, nonetheless, announced the recruitment of Toni Rose Basas and Gizelle Sy. As for the men's team, Cignal HD Spikers released Owen Suarez, Edward Camposano and Rex Intal.

PETRO GAZZ ANGELS

The Petro Gazz Angels recently won the championship trophy in the 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference. Thus, it is quite mind boggling that the team is overhauling its roster and coaching staff.

Head Coach Rald Ricafort was poached by the PLDT High-Speed Hitters as the latter's new head coach. Arnold Laniog was likewise signed by PLDT as assistant coach to Ricafort.

With regard to its roster, Petro Gazz Angels released Myla Pablo, Bang Pineda and Seth Rodriguez.

PLDT HIGH-SPEED HITTERS

The only changes so far for PLDT is the signing of Rald Ricafort as head coach and Arnold Laniog as his assistant. As for its players, PLDT High-Speed Hitters released Eli Soyud who signed with Akari Power Chargers and Toni Rose Basas who transferred to Cignal HD Spikers.

The PLDT High-Speed Hitters also signed incoming rookie Ysa Jimenez from the UST Golden Tigresses. They also recruited Mich Morente.

AKARI POWER CHARGERS

The Akari Power Charges signed Bang Pineda and Eli Soyud. Bang Pineda previously played as libero for Petro Gazz Angels last season while Eli Soyud was part of the PLDT High-Speed Hitters.

Akari Power Chargers also added Camille Victoria who waived her last playing year with the UST Golden Tigresses in the UAAP.

F2 LOGISTICS CARGO MOVERS

The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers are already making changes to their roster. First, they hired Regine Diego as Their new head coach. They then released several players including Tin Tiamzon, Lourdes Clemente, Alexine Cabanos, Chloe Cortez, Rem Cailing and Dzi Gervacio.
