The Manila Stars return to the MPBL (Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League) with a revamped roster. Leading the team are ex-PBA players Dan Sara and Marcy Arellano.
The Stars also enlisted homegrown talents to bolster the squad. These homegrown talents are Julius Manalo, Macky Acosta, Lars Sunga, Carlo Dava and Jonathan Ballon.

The Manila Stars had a disappointing campaign last season as they failed to reach the playoffs in the North Division after just winning 6 games out of the 21 total matches. The team is nonetheless optimistic that it would improve its record this season.
