MPBL Suspends Several Players For Violating League Policies


In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) announced that it suspended several players for violations of the rules and regulations of the league. The suspension of these players was approved by MPBL Founder and Chairman Manny Pacquiao.

According to Manny Pacquiao, the MPBL continues to police its ranks against those whose conduct are detrimental to the league, most especially the players and coaches.

"The MPBL has suspended several players for violation(s) of the rules and regulations of the league.

The players concerned have already been informed of the league's decision that was approved by the MPBL founder and Chairman Manny Pacquiao recently.

Pacquiao said the MPBL will remain vigilant in policing its ranks particularly with players and coaches whose conduct are detrimental to the league.

'As a league whose aim is to develop and nurture Filipino basketball talents, who proudly represent the different provinces and cities in the country, the MPBL stresses the importance of abiding to tournament rules and regulations and maintaining the integrity of the matches,' said Pacquiao a former senator.

Pacquiao continues to work with league officials led by commissioner Kenneth Duremdes and team owners in ensuring that the 29-team home-and-away runs smoothly in its fifth season.

'We thank the MPBL Teams for their continued support t the initiatives of league founder Sen. Manny Pacquiao in improving the league for the benefit of the players, coaches, staff and most importantly, basketball fans,' Duremdes said.
