The Pampanga Giant Lanterns is arguably the hottest team in the MPBL (Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League) 2023 season with the addition of marquee players in Justine Baltazar and Encho Serrano. After a heartbreaking loss against Nueva Ecija in the North Division Semifinals last year, the Giant Lanterns looks in shape to win the crown this year.
Aside from Justine Baltazar, the Giant Lanterns also feature young up-and-coming players including John Lloyd Clemente, Louie Sangalang, Allen Liwag and Kurt Reyson. The trio of Archie Concepcion, Jayson Apolonio and Mitchel Maynes which led the team last year are still part of the squad but their role will diminish.

On paper, the Pampanga Giant Lanterns has the strongest team given the towering presence of Justine Baltazar who is ably aided by the tall towers of Ronan Santos, Mat De Leo and JB Bahio who all stand above 6'6. Encho Serrano will also provide offensive firepower.
