The Jose Rizal University (JRU) Heavy Bombers got embroiled in a controversy last season after John Amores run amok against the players of the College of St. Benilde Blazers. The Heavy Bombers would like to leave such bitter memory behind as they are focused in their quest to win the championship this season.
Even with the departure of John Amores, the young core of the JRU Heavy Bombers have now matured including Ry Dela Rosa, JL Delos Santos, Agem Miranda and Marwin Dionisio. These players spent their off season playing in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) which definitely improved their game.

Head Coach: Luis Gonzales III
Head Coach Luis Gonzales III will once again steer the Heavy Bombers in their title quest this season. For those who have been watching the MPBL, his name is familiar since he is one of the regular commentators.
Agem Miranda has been a key offensive player for the Oriental Mindoro Disiplinados, so is JL Delos Santos for the Muntinlupa Cagers. Marwin Dionisio was also a part of the Marikina Shoemasters' rotation.
