Eight (8) men's basketball teams will once again take centerstage as season 86 of the UAAP will unfold on September 30, 2023 at the Mall of Asia Arena. Defending champions Ateneo Blue Eagles will stake their championship trophy as the UP Fighting Maroons, De La Salle Green Archers, Adamson Falcons and the rest of the UAAP squads attempt to dethrone them.
Several star players have already graduated or turned professionals including Carl Tamayo of the UP Fighting Maroons who opted to join Japan's B.league after losing against the Ateneo Blue Eagles in last season's championship. Dave Ildefonso had already graduated and he is now playing in the Korean Basketball League.
