UAAP Standings 2023: UP and NU Stay Unbeaten To Lead the Team Standings as of October 4, 2023

After three (3) frenetic game days, the UP Fighting Maroons and the NU Bulldogs sit atop the standings with similar unbeaten records. The Fighting Maroons made their presence felt early in dominating fashion after thrashing the Adamson Falcons, 68-51, and the UE Red Warriors, 84-69.

The NU Bulldogs are also flexing an unblemished record of 2-0. In their opening game of the season, the Bulldogs shocked the defending champions Ateneo Blue Eagles, 75-64. With the surprising win, the Bulldogs are looking as final four (4) contenders.

The Ateneo Blue Eagles, nonetheless, avenged their sorry loss against the Bulldogs with a come-from-behind 77-72 win against their archrival, De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers last October 4, 2023 at the Mall of Asia Arena. Mason Amos bounced back from a forgettable UAAP debut with a clutch performance against the Green Archers as he exploded for 8 straight points to give the Blue Eagles a 70-64 lead in crunch time.

At the other end of the spectrum, both the UST Growling Tigers and the FEU Tamaraws are still searching for their first win. The Growling Tigers almost had a win against the Adamson Falcons but it was Adamson which proved steadier in overtime. The FEU Tamaraws are also in a losing state after getting outclassed by the DLSU Green Archers in their first game and the NU Bulldogs yesterday.
