The Davao Occidental Tigers are back in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) after taking a two (2) year hiatus. They previously won the national championship title of the Lakan Season (2019-2020) which was postponed to January 2021 at Subic Bay due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The team then announced their departure from the MPBL as they formed another league, the Pilipinas Super League. Nevertheless, the Davao Occidental Tigers returned to the MPBL for the 2024 season.
The core players of the Davao Occidental Tigers in their championship run have already transferred to other teams. The present roster will be bannered by several ex-PBA players including PJ Simon, Kenneth Ighalo, Arth Dela Cruz, Kurt Lojera, James Martinez, Kelly Nabong, Yutien Andrada, Bam Gamalinda, Terrence Tumalip and Mark Olayon.
Other members of the team are Dariel Bayla, Jun Manzo, Dave Arana, Ryusei Koga, Biboy Enguio, Jason Mancao and Mark Sarangay.
