 PBA Draft 2022 Applicants and Preview

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) will hold its 2022 Season 47 Rookie Draft on May 15, 2022 at the Robinsons Place Manila. The draft is open to all local and Fil-Foreign players who are at least 22 years old. Players who are aged 19 and completed at least two years of college education can also join the draft.

Some of the blue chip recruits who are expected to join the 2022 rookie draft are Brandon Rosser, Jeremiah Gray, and Jason Brickman. They were supposed to joint the 2021 Rookie Draft but they were not eligible due to their failure to secure the documents that can support their eligibility.

Some notable UAAP players who will be graduating this season include Justin Baltazar and Kurt Lojera of the DLSU Green Archers. Tyler Tio, Gian Mamuyac, and BJ Andrade of the Ateneo Blue Eagles have likewise thrown their name into the mix. Shaun Ildefonso of NU Bulldogs and Josh Fontanilla of the UST Growling Tigers will also try their luck in the draft. Meanwhile, Ricci Rivero opted to skip this years PBA draft as he is considering offers from other leagues.

Brandon Rosser, Jerimiah Gray, and Justin Baltazar are among the consensus top picks in the draft. Encho Serrano who also made a name for himself in the MPBL for 2021 Invitational Champions Basilan and the PBA 3x3 team of Ginebra is likewise expected to be picked in the first round.
