The Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines will once again participate in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2022 Regular Season which starts on April 25, 2022 at the Batangas City Coliseum after taking a leave of absence in the past two (2) years due to the covid-19 pandemic. After making a good run into the playoffs in the 2019 season of the MPBL, the team aims to surpass its past achievement with the hope of winning the crown.
Universal Canning Incorporated remains to be the backer of the Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines. With a revamped roster, can the team win it all this season?

The Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines is loaded with veterans who made a name for themselves in the other leagues. MPBL Champion Jhaymo Eguilos will lead the team as he will carry the load in the backcourt. There will be no shortage of big men in the lineup as proven bruisers Mon Mabayo, Cris Dumapig, Jhapz Bautista and Chito Jaime will anchor the team's inside presence.
There will also be a steady supply of court generals with the Marcelino twins Jayvee and Jaycee orchestrating the offense. They will be complemented by steady guards Cyrus Tabi and Jeff Comia.
