The Pampanga Giant Lanterns is a professional basketball team representing the province of Pampanga in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). Owned by Congressman Dong Gonzales of ADG Construction, the Giant Lanterns joined the MPBL in 2018.
In its debut season in the 2018-2019 season (Datu Cup), the Giant Lanterns posted a record of 11-14 for a 9th seed finish in the Northern Division. The team retooled in the 20192-2020 season (Lakan Cup) and advanced into the Northern Division Semifinals but they fell short against the San Juan Knights.
For this MPBL 2022 Regular Season (Mumbaki Cup), the Pampanga Giant Lanterns will rely mostly on young homegrown talents led by Raymond Binuya. Other homegrown talents include Archie Concepcion, Jomer Mercado, Ivan Pineda, Warren Bonifacio and John Lorenz Capulong among others.

The Pampanga Giant Lanterns will parade a new set of players bannered by homegrown players. It is a departure from their previous star-studded lineup in the 2019-2020 season (Lakan Cup) spearheaded by former PBA Players such as Levi Hernandez, Mark Cruz, and Michael Juico.
Be that as it may, the team will rely on the grit and youth of the homegrown cabalens. The team also tap NBL standout Jayson Apolonio from the province of La Union. Can the young squad of the Pampanga Giant Lanterns make it deep into the playoffs?
