The Bacoor City Strikers had been a perennial playoff team in the MPBL (Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League) but they always fell short in the race to the championship. This season, the team revamped its roster and added firepower to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines and Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards.
In its quest for its first championship crown, the Strikers signed prolific big man Mark Yee and reliable guards Alwyn Alday, Aaron Jeruta and Yvan Ludovice. They also added young guns in James Kwekuteye and Jhan Nermal to reinforce Mark Montuano, Lester Reyes and Rocky Acidre.

The Strikers will be coached by Alex Angeles who previously mentored the Bacolod Bingo Plus team last season. With him joining the Strikers squad, he brought his former players Mark Yee, Alwyn Alday, Kraniel Viloria and Joel Lee Yu to Bacoor.
