The stars are coming down to Bataan on September 16, 2023 for the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2023 All-Star Games. It will definitely be a treat for MPBL fans as exciting events are lined up on that day.
Similar to previous all-star games, there will be an Executive game wherein the team executives from the North and South Division will have the opportunity to showcase their talents. Adding spice to the all-star festivities would be the 3-point shootout and the Slam Dunk showdown.
Fans are looking forward to the slamdunk contest as several athletic players had created highlight reels during the season. Perhaps the most anticipated dunker is Poypoy Actub who set an MPBL record of seven (7) dunks in a single game.
Other high flyers to watch out for are CJ Gania of the Pampanga Giant Lanterns and Rhinwil Yambing of the San Juan Knights. Archie Concepcion alsobof Pampanga, Joe Gomez De Liaño of the Marikina Shoesmasters and Carlo Escalambre could also make the slamdunk contest exciting.
The 3-point shootout could also proved to be a highlight event for the all-star day. Domark Matillano will defend his crown against other shooters such as Byron Villarias and John Wilson.
Finally, the main all-star game of the North and South Division will highlight the day. Governor Delta Pineda of the Pampanga Giant Lanterns will coach the North All-stars while Coach Alex Angeles will handle the stars from the South.
