Domark Matillano of the Bacolod City of Smiles will defend his MPBL All-Star 3-point shootout crown against 12 other players in the upcoming 2023 MPBL All-star game which will be held at the Bataan People's Center on 16 September 2023.
Challenging Matillano for the trophy are Levi Hernandez of the Batangas Embassy Chill. He will be joined by Joshua Santos and James Castro of the Bataan Risers.
Jayson Apolonio of the Pampanga Giant Lanterns will also join the 3-point shootout. He will contend with Jonathan Uyloan of the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards, Jeramer Cabanag of the Caloocan Batang Kankaloo and Orlan Wamar of the San Juan Knights.
Completing the competitors are Al Tamsi of Quezon Huskers, Val Acuna of Muntinlupa Cagers, Robie Manalang of Pasig MCW Sports, John Umali of ParaƱaque Patriots and Enzo Joson of the General Santos Warriors.
Rodel Vaygan currently leads the MPBL in 3-point percentage with 42.3%. Ironically, he is not one of the participants in the 3-point shootout.
Meanwhile, Jeramer Cabanag is the second-best three (3) point shooter with 41.1%. Surprisingly, Domark Matillano is not even in the top ten (10), but he might surprise us again this 2023 all-star game.
