The Mapua Cardinals own one of the longest title drought in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament as their last championship trophy was in 1991. Although they already won six (6) championship titles in the men's basketball, adding another trophy is definitely most welcome.
The Cardinals will fight for the title without their main man Adrian Nocum who opted to turn professional with the San Juan Knights of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). Nonetheless, the Cardinals will parade Clint Escamis who returned to their camp after a forgettable stint with the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors in the UAAP.

Head Coach Randy Alcantara have been juggling his coaching stints with the San Juan Knights in the MPBL and the Mapua Cardinals in the NCAA. He already won a championship in the MPBL and he looks to capture another one in the NCAA.
Clint Escamis will definitely have the chance to show his wares after an unproductive stint in the UAAP. Will his homecoming to the Cardinals program a fruitful one this season?
