The College of St. Benilde Blazers reached the finals of the NCAA Philippines Season 98 in 2022 but they bowed out against the defending champions Letran Knights. The last time the Benilde Blazers brought home the championship trophy was twenty-three (23) years ago or in the 2000 season.
Will Gozum will return for his last playing year with the Benilde Blazers. The MVP last season will aim to end his collegiate career with a championship for the Blazers.
Backstopping Gozum will are Mark Sangco, Migs Corteza, Miguel Oczon, Michael Mara and Taine Davis among others. Head Coach Charles Tiu will once again have his hands full as the bar has been set higher given their 2nd place finish last season. He is definitely looking to exceed what they achieved last season and failure to bring home the championship trophy will surely be a disappointment.
Will Gozum's basketball journey will truly be memorable if he will graduate as a champion. He was the NCAA Jrs MVP but he failed to get decent playing time at the University of the Philippines which prompted him to transfer to College of St. Benilde where he was given the keys to it offense.
