The Rizal Golden Coolers suffered another heartbreak last season after failing to advance to the playoffs. The Golden Coolers only managed to post a 12-16 record which was enough for a 10th place finish in the Northern Division.
Coach Jonathan Banal has already left the Rizal Golden Coolers after accepting the head coaching position with the Abra Weavers. With his departure, the Golden Coolers tapped Ralph Rivera from the Fatima University to steer the team.
Ralph Rivera then brought several of his players from Fatima University to the Golden Coolers Camp. This include Kobi Davis, Charles Dela Cruz, Shaq Pastrana and Marvel Jimenez. Aside from these youngsters, Rizal also elnlisted the services of veterans such as Marco Balagtas, Alwin Alday, Kraniel Viloria, Chad Alonzo, JK Casino, Janus Lozada, Keith Agovida, Jerie Pingoy and Edrian Lao.
