UAAP Standings 2023: UP, NU, ADMU and DLSU Are The Top 4 Teams after Round 1

The Ateneo Blue Eagles dealt the UP Fighting Maroons their very first loss of UAAP Season 86 men's basketball tournament after a hard-fought 99-89 win in overtime. With the win, the Ateneo Blue Eagles improved to a 4-3 record which propelled them to third (3rd) place in the standings.

The UP Fighting Maroons' win-loss record dropped to 6-1 and they are tied with the NU Bulldogs who also has a 6-1 record. However, since the Fighting Maroons dumped the NU Bulldogs in their encounter, the Fighting Maroons remains at number one while NU is second.

The De La Salle Green Archers are at 4th place with a 4-3 record similar to the Ateneo Blue Eagles. Not far behind at 5th is the Adamson Soaring Falcons who earned a record of 3-4 after the 1st round.


The UE Red Warriors and the FEU Tamaraws are at 6th and 7th place respectively with identical records of 2-5. The Tamaraws could have tied with Adamson but they suffered a stunning 68-62 loss against the UST Growling Tigers who avoided a winless 1st round.
