2022 UAAP Season 85 Assist Leaders in Men's Basketball

UAAP Season 85 assist leaders

Evan Nelle of the DLSU Green Archers is averaging 7.8 assists per game to lead all players in the UAAP Season 85 after the end of the 1st round of elimination games. Playing in his second year in the UAAP after transferring from the NCAA, Evan Nelle is proving that he can create plays for the DLSU Green Archers and fill in the void left by Aljun Melecio.

The DLSU Green Archers, however, are underperforming this season. Despite having talents such as Michael Phillips, Kevin Quiambao and Schonny Winston, the Green Archers are unable to realize their potential as their lineup is arguably one of the strongest, if not the strongest, on paper.

Forthsky Padrigao of the Ateneo Blue Eagles is the second-best playmaker in UAAP Season 85. The cerebral guard is currently averaging 6.14 assists as the court general for the Blue Eagles.

Forthsky Padrigao is the main point guard for the Blue Eagles this season as SJ Belangel opted to forego his playing years in the UAAP to turn professional in the Korean Basketball League (KBL). Forthsky Padrigao is playing great so far, although the Ateneo Blue Eagles are uncharacteristically not in the top 2 teams in the standings.

Jerom Lastimosa of the Adamson Soaring Falcons is the third (3rd) best playmaker as he is presently dishing out an average of 4.71 assists per outing. The fourth (4th) year guard is undoubtedly the best player in the Adamson Falcons squad as he has been carrying the offensive load so far while keeping his teammates involved.

The Adamson Soaring Falcons, however, struggled in the early stages of the first round before finding their groove at the later part. Perhaps their biggest victory came at the expense of the vaunted DLSU Green Archers whom they outlasted.

Kyle Paranada of the UE Red Warriors is the fourth (4th) leading playmaker in the UAAP Season 85. The pint-sized guard is averaging 4.57 assists per game for the revitalized Warriors who are the biggest surprise this season given their awful standing in Season 84 when they managed to salvage a single win.

With the Paranada brothers, Kyle and Nikko, stepping up their game this season, and with the additions of marquee players in Luis Villegas and Gani Stevens, the UE Red Warriors are stunning revelations this season as they are at the middle of the pack within shooting distance of the final four slots.

Terrence Fortea of the UP Fighting Maroons and LJ Gonzales of the FEU Tamaraws are tied at fifth (5th) place of the assist leaders in the UAAP Season 85 after the end of the 1st round of eliminations. Both Guards are averaging 4.43 assists per game.

Terrence Fortea is carrying the point guard load for the Fighting Maroons since JD Cagulangan played only one game in the first round of the eliminations due to injury. Meanwhile, LJ Gonzales is now the main man for the FEU Tamaraws due to the departure of RJ Abbarrientos who is now making a name for himself in the KBL. The Tamaraws lost their first 5 games before winning their last two as they try to avoid missing the final four.
