2022 UAAP Season 85 Steals Leaders in Men's Basketball

Three players from the DLSU Green Archers are in the top five (5) of steals leaders after the 1st round of eliminations in the 2022 UAAP Season 85. Schonny Winston of the Green Archers is currently the number one (1) player in the UAAP in terms of average steals with three (3) per game.

Schonny Winston is having a breakout season as he is also the top scorer with an average of 21.29 points per game. His team, however, are performing below expectations despite having a strong lineup, at least on paper.

LJ Gonzales of the FEU Tamaraws is the second-best leader in steals with his own average of 2.43 steals per game. The FEU Tamaraws had a rough start in Season 85 as they lost their first five (5) games. Nonetheless, they were able to win their last two (2) games of the first round to keep themselves within striking distance of the final four (4).

Evan Nelle of the DLSU Green Archers joins his teammate Schonny in the list of top stealers in UAAP Season 85. He is averaging 2.4 steals per game for the Green and White. The former guard of the San Beda Red Lions is making a mark in the UAAP as he is also the number one playmaker with 7.8 assists per game.

Kean Baclaan of the NU Bulldogs comes at 4th place of the top stealers in UAAP Season 85 with his own average of 2.29 steals per outing. His defensive presence in the perimeter is definitely a key contribution for the NU Bulldogs who were momentarily at the no. 1 spot of the standings before they were defeated by the FEU Tamaraws.

The duo of Kean Baclaan and Steve Nash Enriquez in the backcourt has created problems for their opponents. With their speed and craftiness, the two are instrumental in NU's bid for the championship.

Mark Nonoy is the third Green Archer in the top five (5) of the steals leaders. He is currently fifth (5th) in the list with his average of 2.25 steals per game. Unfortunately, he does not have the same impact that he had with the UST Growling Tigers in their title run last 2019.

With the steady presence of Evan Nelle and Schonny Winston, Mark Nonoy had limited playing time compared when he was still under coach Aldin Ayo. Be that as it may, Mark Nonoy remains to be a force in the defensive end as shown by his ability to steal the ball.

Check out below the list of the league leaders in steals in the UAAP Season 85 men's basketball tournament after the end of the first round of eliminations.
