The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) recognizes after every season the players who have demonstrated exemplary performance in the court. The awards include the highly coveted Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, the Defensive Player of the Year Award, and the Coach of the Year Award which is also known as the Ato Badolato Coach of the Year award in honor of legendary Coach Badolato who recently passed away.

The five (5) best players or the Mythical Five are also given recognition for rising above the rest of the players in terms of their basketball game. We summarize below the names of the players who have won the coveted individual awards in the MPBL.

The Makati FSD Blazers is a professional basketball team representing the City of Makati in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The team is one of the sixteen (16) expansion teams in the 2018-2019 season also known as the Datu Cup and it was known as the Makati Skyscrapers.

The team posted a record of 21-4 during the elimination rounds in its maiden season. However, the team lost to the Quezon City Capitals, 0-2, in their first round playoffs match. In the succeeding season or the Lakan Cup, the team rebranded as the Makati Supercrunch which saw more success as they reached the North Division Finals where they, however, lost to the San Juan Knights.

The Bicol Volcanoes is a professional basketball team representing the Region of Bicol in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The team is one of the six (6) expansion teams in the 2019-2020 season also known as the Lakan Season..

In its maiden season, the team registered a win-loss record of 16-14 which was good enough to earn the eighth (8th) seed in the South Division. The Bicol Volcanoes almost eliminated the heavily-favored Davao Occidental Tigers in the first round of the playoffs but they fell short, 1-2, in their best of three series.

The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is holding a thirteen (13)-day invitational tournament with twenty-two (22) teams participating. The tournament will serve as a pre-season for the full-season which is planned to be launched on February 2022.

The Champion team is about to get a merry Christmas as the grand prize at stake is worth Two Million Pesos (Php 2,000,000.00) while the 2nd and 3rd placers will take home Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php 500,000.00) and Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Pesos (Php 250,000.00).

The Mindoro Tamaraws EOG Sports is a professional basketball team representing the Province of Mindoro in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The team is one of the six (6) expansion teams of the MPBL in the 2019-2020 season which was also known as the Lakan Cup. 

In its debut season, the Mindoro Tamaraws was bannered by its own homegrown player Rodel Vaygan. Unfortunately, the team managed to win only nine (9) out of 30 games for a 9-21 record which was good enough for 12th place.

The Imus Buracai De Laiya is a professional basketball team representing the City of Imus, Cavite in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The team is one of the ten (10) founding members of the MPBL during its inaugural season known as the Anta Rajah Cup which opened on 25 January 2018. The team was then known as the Imus Banderas and it unfortunately placed second to the last after posting a 2-7 record in the eliminations.

Imus Banderas improved its record in the 2018-2019 season or the Datu Cup as they won 11 out of 25 games (11-14) which allowed them to enter the playoffs. They however bowed out of contention after they were eliminated by the Batangas City Athletics in the first round of the Playoffs.

The Basilan Jumbo Plastic is a professional basketball team representing the Province of Basilan in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The team was founded in 2018 as the Basilan Steel when it participated as one of the sixteen (16) expansion teams in the 2018-2019 season or the Datu Cup of the MPBL.

Basilan had a rude debut in the Datu Cup (2018-2019 season) of the MPBL as they only managed to secure 12th place in the Southern Division with a 7-18 record in the elimination round. The team, nonetheless, revamped its roster in the succeeding season which proved fruitful after they improved to a 20-10 record then cruised to the Southern Division Finals. The team's hope to capture the crown was unfortunately dashed after they were ruled out of the game 3 as several members of the team tested positive of the Covid-19 virus prior to the team's entry inside the bubble in Subic Bay.

The Iloilo United Royals is a professional basketball team representing the City of Iloilo in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The team was founded in 2019 and was one of the six (6) expansion teams in the 2019-2020 season or the Lakan Cup of the MPBL.

Although it was one of the newest teams, Iloilo United Royals proved to be a competitive one as they notched an 18-12 record which was enough for a sixth (6th) seed in the Southern Division. It, however, exited the first round playoffs after they were vanquished by the Basilan Steel in the first round.

The Pasig Sta. Lucia Realtors is a professional basketball team representing the City of Pasig in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. The team was founded in 2018 and was called the Pasig Pirates when they participated as one of the 16 expansion teams in the second (2nd) season or the Datu Cup (2018-2019) of the MPBL.

In the Datu Cup, the team became the whipping boys as they managed to win only four (4) out of the 25 games to finish the season with a 4-21 record. After an embarrassing stint in the Datu Cup, the Sta. Lucia Corporation became the sponsor of the Pasig team which rebranded as the Pasig Sta. Lucia Realtors. The team improved to a record of 18-12 in the Lakan Cup owing to the full support of Sta. Lucia.

The Manila Stars.is a professional basketball team representing the City of Manila in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. The team was founded in 2018 when they participated as one of the 16 expansion teams in the second (2nd) season or the Datu Cup (2018-2019) of the MPBL.

In the Datu Cup, the team reached the North Division Finals but they bowed out against the eventual champions San Juan Knights, 2-1 in their best-of-three duel. The team retooled in the succeeding season (2019-2020) or the Lakan Cup but they failed again to reach the Finals after they were eliminated by the Makati Supercrunch, 2-1, in the North Division Semi-finals.

The Bacolod ABB Basketball is a professional basketball team representing the city of Bacolod in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The team which was previously known as the Bacolod Master Sardines is one of the expansion teams that joined the MPBL in its second season known as the Datu Cup which ran from 12 June 2018 to 25 April 2019.

The Bacolod Master Sardines was led by ex-pros Jesie Saitanan, Jerick Canada, and Pao Javelona. The team, however, failed to reach the playoffs as they ended the elimination round of the Datu Cup at eleventh (11th) place in the Southern Division with a win-loss record of 11-19.

The General Santos Warriors is a professional basketball team representing the city of General Santos in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The team is one of the expansion teams that joined the MPBL in its second season known as the Datu Cup which ran from 12 June 2018 to 25 April 2019.

The team ended the elimination round of the Datu Cup as the fourth (4th) seed but they eventually lost to the fifth (5th) place Bacoor City Strikers in their 1st round playoff match. In the succeeding season, the General Santos Warriors rebuilt around Mickey Williams and added veterans Pamboy Raymundo and Robi Celiz. However, they still failed to advance to the championships.

The Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards is a basketball team currently participating in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The team was founded in 2019 as the Nueva Ecija Miguards which participated in the Lakan Cup of the MPBL.

In the middle of the Lakan Cup, the team rebranded twice to Nueva Ecija Forest Lake and finally to the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards. It finished with a 10-20 record in its maiden season in the MPBL.

VisMin Super Cup 2021 1st Conference Champion, Awards, Results, Ranking, Statistics


The VISMIN SUPER CUP launched its inaugural season starting in 09 April 2021. The format of the competition was that there were two (2) legs- the Visayas and Mindanao legs respectively. The champions in each leg will face off in a grand championship battle to determine who is the VisMin Grand Champion.

 The Visayas Leg was held from 09 April 2021 to 09 May 2021. Seven (7) teams participated in a bubble-type tournament at the Alcantara Civic Center in Cebu Province led by the Talisay Aquastars who swept all the other teams in a double round-robin format, 10-0, during the elimination round which earned them an automatic berth into the Finals. Their unbeaten record, however, turned to naught as they they were defeated by the Mandaue Computer Specialists, 2-1, in their best-of-three series.

The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is set to start its invitational tournament on 11-23 December 2021 at the Mall of Asia Arena after a long hiatus of almost two (2) years due to the pandemic. Twenty-two (22) teams have confirmed their participation and teams are more than excited to play.

The eliminations will be done in a round robin format with five (5) games to be played per day. The top two (2) of each pool will advance to the quarterfinals in a knockout game. The remaining four (4) teams will play in the semifinals also in a knockout game. The remaining two (2) clubs will fight it out in a do-or-die championship game to determine who will be the MPBL invitational champions.

The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) plans to return for another exciting basketball tournament this coming April 18, 2022, presumably to serve as a pre-season tournament just like the the invitational tournament held on 11 to 23 of December 2021. The Zamboanga Sibugay Anak Mindanao Warriors is the latest basketball club who will participate in the second conference of the Pilipinas Vismin Super Cup. The team is backed by the Anak Mindanao partylist is the eight team than confirmed its participation in the second conference.

Other participating teams include the Roxas Vanguards, Iligan City Archangels, Pagadian Explorers, Misamis Oriental Kuyamis, Kapatagan Buffalos, and Basilan BRT Peace Riders.

The MPBL or Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League is the biggest basketball league in the Philippines in terms of participating teams. The league started with ten (10) teams in its inaugural season then grew to 26 teams in the second season until it reached 32 clubs in the last full season prior to the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic.

After it went into hiatus in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons due to the pandemic, the MPBL is about to reignite its brand of basketball as Chooks-to-Go will handle the operations of the league moving forward. An invitational tournament will be held on 11-21 December 2021 as a preparation for the league's full season starting 12 June 2022.

The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers is a professional women's volleyball team participating in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), the first professional women's volleyball league in the Philippines. The team was founded by F2 Logistics Philippines, Inc. and debuted in 2016 in the Philippine Superliga. 

As the Philippine Superliga disbanded, the team transferred to the PVL in 11 March 2021 when it became a professional league. The team, however, announced on 09 July 2021 that it will not participate in the maiden professional season of the PVL due to difficulties maintaining their training bubble.

The Bulacan Kuyas will hold a tryout to recruit players to complete its roster for the upcoming Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Chooks-To-Go Invitational tournament from 11 to 21 December 2021. The team is one of the 22 clubs who will compete in the pocket tournament which will serve as a pre-season competition in preparation for the full season of the MPBL which it hopes to open on 12 June 2022. When: 19 November 2021 at 8:00 AM

The tryouts will be held at the Red Arc Events Place in Balagtas, Bulacan on 19 November 2021 at 08:00 AM. Needless to say, players are required to follow the minimum standard health protocols as the threat of Covid-19 remains.

MPBL Eyes Invitational Tournament in MOA

After almost two (2) years of hiatus, the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is set to host its invitational tournament on 11-21 December of this year. If everything goes into plan, the tournament will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena (MOA) in Pasay City.

“Hopefully, the venue (MOA) can be confirmed today. We’re ready and excited. This is the right time to reignite the league after our long hiatus,” Mr. Duremdes said in the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum yesterday.

There will be about twenty-two (22) teams who will participate in the pocket tournament which is slated to provide a much needed avenue for players to get back into the hardcourt while earning at the same time. Perennial rivals Davao Occidental Tigers and the San Juan Knights are looking to renew their rivalry as they lead the cast of the participating teams.

The second conference of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) 3x3 tournament is currently ongoing with thirteen (13) teams battling it out for the honor and prestige of being a champion. For the second conference, the Bacolod Master Sardines 3x3 squad will make its debut and will try to make a mark against the big names in the PBA.

The games are played at the Smart Araneta Coliseum with free admission to all fans who may want to witness the actions live. Can the Limitless Appmasters defend their crown? We will only know the answer once the dust settle.

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) will finally open its long delayed 3x3 tournament on 20 November 2021 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City. Thirteen teams will participate in the inaugural season.

The PBA 3x3 tournament was supposed to run parallel with the regular season of the PBA but the opening was moved several times due to the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic. As the number of active cases continue to decline, the PBA hopes to finally open the first ever season of its 3x3 tournament.

The San Juan Knights is a professional basketball team representing the city of San Juan in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The team was originally founded in 1999 in the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA) where it won the National Championship twice.

It was later revived in 2018 when it participated in the newly-formed Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) where it also enjoyed success when it won the inaugural National Championship in the Datu Cup after defeating its arch rival Davao Occidental Tigers.

The Davao Occidental Tigers is a basketball team participating in the ongoing Filipino Basketball League or otherwise known as the Filbasket. The team recently won the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Lakan Cup last March 2021.

Due to the inactivity of the MPBL owing to the persistent effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, the team opted to participate in the Filbasket to give opportunity for its players to remain physically fit while earning at the same time. The Davao Occidental Tigers retained its core from the recent MPBL Championship team less Mark Yee who will play in a 3x3 tournament abroad. Nonetheless, they added MPBL Lakan Cup MVP John Wilson, veteran Paulo Hubalde, and reliable point guard Alwin Alday to boost the offensive front.

The PNVF Champions League is a volleyball tournament organized by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF). PNVF president Tats Suzara said that the PNVF Champions League aims to provide an avenue for teams outside the National Capital Region (NCR) to compete against elite teams based in Metro Manila.

For the inaugural staging of the tournament, seven (7) teams originally will participate in the Women's division which will run from November 20 to 25, 2021. However, Sta. Lucia Realtors pulled out eventually. Rebisco is the platinum sponsor for the event but its own volleyball teams, Creamline and Choco Mucho, will not participate as they needed to rest for the upcoming season of the PVL in 2022.

The Philippine Football League or PFL is the top-tier professional football league in the Philippines. It was officially launched in April 21, 2017 with eight (8) participating clubs and it replaced the manila-based United Football League (UFL) as the top-tier league in the Philippines.

On January 26, 2020, the PFL secured a sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways as the official airline partner and title sponsor. Consequently, the PFL was formally renamed as "The Philippines Football League brought to you by Qatar Airways."

The FILBASKET or Filipino Basketball League is the newest basketball league in the Philippines. Founded by former UAAP star Jai Reyes, the infant league aims to provide a new venue for basketball players, either young bloods or veterans, to play the game they most loved while earning at the same time.

The FILBASKET is back this 2022 for its summer championship edition. Eight teams will participate in this edition of FILBASKET including a team from Malaysia.

Filbasket is an amateur tournament that hopes to create a league for players of any level, including national teams. It aims to improve the basketball industry in the Philippines by providing a stable, long term and inclusive platform, for the fans and players. 

This 2022, Filbasket will return to for its Summer Championship which will tip off on March 18, 2022 at the San Jose Del Monte Gym in Bulacan. The games will be played in the said gym and in other venues such as the Muntinlupa Sports Complex.

NBL Philippines Teams, Roster, Lineup, Players and Coaches (2022 NBL President's Cup)

 

The National Basketball League (NBL) is a professional basketball league in the Philippines. It is a grassroots basketball tournament which aims to discover young basketball talents from underserved provinces and cities. The league made its debut as an amateur league in August 2018 with a total of 12 teams participating which include Bataan, Bulacan, Camarines Sur, Dasmarinas, Laguna, Marikina, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Paranaque, Quezon City, Rizal, and Taguig.


From 12 teams, the league steadily grew in the coming season until the Covid-19 pandemic hit in March 2020. The NBL eventually decided to apply for a professional status with the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) so they can be allowed to organize a tournament. In August 2020, the GAB approved NBL's application for a professional status.

Jema Galanza is a professional Volleyball player who currently plays for the Creamline Cool Smashers in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), the first and only professional volleyball league in the Philippines. Born in 1996, the 5'7 volleybelle from San Pedro, Laguna played for the Adamson University Lady Falcons in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). 

She graduated from San Pedro Relocation Center National High School prior to her collegiate stint with the Adamson Lady Falcons. She then made her debut with the Lady Falcons in Season 76 during academic year 2013-2014.

While she started as a reserve player for the Lady Falcons, Jem Galanza eventually made it into the starting squad when senior players like Bang Pineda graduated. A bigger role as a starter allowed her to blossom as she ended UAAP Season 77 as the sixth (6th) best scorer.

WNBL Philippines: Teams, Players, Roster, Lineup, Coaches

 

The Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) is the first and only professional Women's basketball league in the Philippines. The WNBL opened its inaugural professional season dubbed as the Pia Cayetano Cup last 17 July 2021 at the Bulacan Capitol Gym in Malolos, Bulacan in a closed-circuit setup.


Five teams are participating in the first professional season including the Glutagence Glow Boosters, Pacific Water Queens, Paranaque Lady Aces, Taguig Lady Generals and STAN Quezon Lady Spartan. Unfortunately, the WNBL had to suspend the season as the National Capital Region was put under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) status due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases.

Maddie Madayag Profile, Statistics, and Playing History

Maddie Madayag is a professional Volleyball player who currently plays for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), the first and only professional volleyball league in the Philippines. Born in 1998, the 5'11 volleybelle chose to play for the the Ateneo De Manila University where she won two (2) collegiate championships in Seasons 77 and 81 of the University Athletic Associations of the Philippines (UAAP). 

Maddie Madayag made her debut in the UAAP in 2015 but she spent most of her time in the bench. The Ateneo Lady Eagles swept the season en route to a championship that season.

Through her collegiate career, she gradually improved and took a more important role. In her final season in UAAP 81 last 2019, Maddie and fellow graduating students Bea De Leon and Kat Tolentino saved their best game for last as they led the Lady Eagles in a Finals-clinching 3-1 win against the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws last 08 May 2019.

The very first season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) as a professional league has already ended and a new champion has been crowned. The Cherry Tiggo Crossovers banked on a superb performance by the twin towers of sisters Jaja Santiago and Dindin Santiago-Manabat to dethrone the Creamline Cool Smashers after a thrilling 3-2 win in the third and final game of their best-of-three series at the PVC convention in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte last 13 August 2021.

The Balipure Water Defenders is a professional women's volleyball team competing in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) which recently turned into a professional league in November 2020. It originally participated in the Shakey's V-league, the precursor of the Premier Volleyball League which started as a semi-professional league. The PVL then transformed into a professional league after its application was approved by the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) in November 2020.


The team immediately made an impact in its debut in the PVL in 2016 when it finished 3rd place in both the Open and Reinforced Conference of the PVL. The year later was even more successful for the Water Defenders as they secured a runner-up ending in the 2017 PVL Reinforced Conference. Finally, the team won its first ever PVL championship trophy in the 2017 PVL Open Conference.

Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors Lineup, Roster, Players, Updates, Scores, Schedule

The Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors is a professional women's volleyball team competing in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) which recently turned into a professional league in November 2020. It was formed and organized by the Sta. Lucia Realty and Development Corporation in 2017 when it competed in the Philippine Super Liga, a rival of the PVL before the latter turned pro towards the end of 2020.


The team didn't have much success in the PSL as they failed to win a title, much less enter the final four round in both the All-Filipino and Grand Prix Conferences. In its debut in 2017, the Lady Realtors finished at sixth (6th) place in both the All-Filipino and Grand Prix conferences.

The Lady Realtors joined the exodus of teams from the PSL after the PVL was elevated into a professional status by the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) last November 2020.

The elimination round of the Premier Volleyball League 2021 Open Conference has recently ended, and as of this writing, only two (2) teams are remaining to battle for the coveted championship trophy. These are the defending PVL champions Creamline Cool Smashers and a former PSL Squad in the Chery Tiggo Crossovers.


After a grueling three (3) weeks of non-stop action, the most capable of scorers have emerged and we list them down below to honor their superb performance.

The 46th season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), the oldest professional basketball league in Asia is currently undergoing. Unfortunately, the league had to suspend the season midway as the recent surge in Covid-19 cases brought about by the Delta variant constrained the national and local government to implement an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) status in Metro Manila where the games are being played.

The inaugural Mindanao Leg of the VisMin Super Cup is now complete and the Basilan Peace Riders and the Roxas Vanguards are currently battling the Championship trophy. The rest of the teams are already out of the tournament but in spite of their early exit, a lot of the players have exhibited exemplary skills in scoring, passing, blocking, stealing, and 3-point shooting.

PVL 2021 Open Conference Semifinals Game 1: Creamline Cool Smashers defeat Petrogazz Angels , 3-2.

The Creamline Cool Smashers shrug off its early jitters as it dominated the last two (2) sets to rally from a 1-2 deficit to a 3-2 win (27-29, 25-23, 16-25, 25-17, 16-14). The smashers now lead the best-of-three series, 1-0.   


Tots Carlos paced the smashers with 23 pts coming from 22 attacks and  a service ace. She shrugged off a jittery first set wherein she committed several unforced errors but she came through when it mattered the most in the last two (2) sets to deliver the crucial blows against the Petro Gazz Angels. For her efforts, she was cited as the player of the game.

PVL 2021 Open Conference Semi-Finals Preview: Creamline Cools Smashers vs Petro Gazz Angels Pre-Semifinals Match Analysis

 

The elimination round is over and the matchups for the Semi-finals is already set. The league leading Creamline Cool Smashers who finished the elimination round with a record of 8-1 will face the fourth-seeded Petro Gazz Angels who are the owner of a 6-3 record in the preliminary rounds.


As they take the hard court in their much awaited semifinals match, let us take a look into their respective rankings in various skill Departments. This will not certainly guarantee a win but a comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of each team will give us a sneak peek on what is to come.

The Petro Gazz Angels is a professional women's volleyball team participating in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), the first professional women's volleyball league in the Philippines. The team was founded in 2018 comprising of former players from the De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Spikers in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) and the College of Saint Benilde (CSB) Lady Blazers in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).


The team made its debut in the 2018 PVL Reinforced Conference where it finished fifth. In the succeeding Open Conference, Petro Gazz entered the final four but they only managed to notch fourth place. The 2019 season was a more successful campaign for the Petro Gazz Angels after they captured the 2019 Reinforced Conference championship trophy. They however failed to sweep the 2019 trophies as they settled as Runner-up in the 2019 Open conference.

The Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) Philippines is the first and only professional basketball league for women in the Philippines. It is the female counterpart of the National Basketball League (NBL)  which was Founded on 07 June 2018 by Mr. Celso "Soy" Mercado and later became a professional league in 26 August 2020.

The WNBL, just like the NBL, started as an amateur league on 07 April 2019 with seven (7) participating teams. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the planned season in 2020 was cancelled. Nonetheless, the WNBL launched its first professional season in 2021 dubeed as the Pia Cayetano Cup which the Paranaque Lady Aces won.

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans is one of the professional women's volleyball team competing in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), the first professional women's volleyball league in the Philippines. The team is one of nine (9) clubs currently participating in the 2022 PVL Open Conference.

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans will parade some new players to boost its campaign this coming 2022 PVL Open Conference. Some of the newcomers include Des Cheng, Isa Molde, and Aduke Ogunsanya who are all key pieces in their previous teams.

National Basketball League (NBL) Philippines Standings, Scores, Schedule, Results, Best Players of the Game (2022 President's Cup)

The National Basketball League (NBL) Philippines is a professional basketball league in the Philippines which aims to discover basketball talents at the grassroots level. Founded on 07 June 2018 by Mr. Celso "Soy" Mercado, the league started as an amateur one to provide opportunities for undiscovered basketball players.

The league began its inaugural season on August 25, 2018 with 10 teams from Luzon. Games were played every Saturdays and Sundays. The ParaƱaque Aces became the league's first champions after defeating the DasmariƱas Ballers in the best-of-three championship round. A year later, the league expanded to 15 teams while also launching the NBL-Youth, its youth division.

The 2021 Open Conference season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) rolled into action last 17 July 2021 with ten (10) teams vying to be the first ever Champions in the inaugural season of the PVL as a professional league. With the title on the line, the brightest stars of Philippine Volleyball have descended into PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center, Bacarra, Ilocos Norte for a bubble tournament.


Thirteen (13) games have so far been played and we already see familiar names dominating the score sheets.

The Chery Tiggo Crossovers is a professional women's volleyball team competing in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) which recently turned into a professional league in November 2020. Owned by the United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), the team originally competed in the Philippine Superliga (PSL), a rival of the PVL, during the 2014 Grand Prix as the Foton Tornadoes until it was renamed as the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the 2020 season.

The team had success in the early seasons of the PSL as it clinched back-to-back Grand Prix championship in 2015 and 2016. It, however, failed to win a championship crown since then.

When the PVL announced its transformation into a professional league, the Chery Tiggo Crossovers decided to leave the PSL and join the PVL. The team immediately made an impact in the PVL as they won the championship trophy in their debut season. Can the Chery Tiggo Crossovers defend their crown this 2022 PVL Open Conference?

The Creamline Cool Smashers is one of the professional women's volleyball team participating in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), the first professional women's volleyball league in the Philippines. Founded in 2017 by its owner Republic Biscuit Corporation (Rebisco), the team carries the brand name of Rebisco's ice cream brand Creamline.

It is one of the more successful teams in the PVL before the said league turned professional. Creamline won third place in both the reinforced and open conference of the PVL in 2017. A year later, the team successfully secured all the championship trophies by winning in both the reinforced and open conferences. In 2019, it failed to defend its reinforced conference trophy but Creamline retained its open conference crown.
